This is custom heading elementThe County of Ventura has designated us in the “Red Tier” for the Covid-19 pandemic. This will allow us limited, in-person gatherings. As circumstances permit, we will gradually open up our various ministries. Please see below for meetings, protocols and methods for this team. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
As a body (both corporately and individually), we celebrate Communion to call to remembrance the sacrifice of Christ and all that means and includes. We take the juice as a tangible representation of His blood being shed for our sins – and the freedom and reconciliation that grants us. We take the bread (or cracker!) as a tangible representation of His body that was broken for us and our healing, spiritually, emotionally, physically and mentally.
Our Communion Team is humbled at the prospect of being able to serve our church by preparing and administering our communion experience. They get here early and prepare the static tables that are present at every service as well as setting up for our corporate Communion experience once a month.
During COVID-19 this team is functioning with modifications. If you feel that the Lord is leading you to volunteer to help facilitate The River’s Communion experience, please email Sean Beharry, Team Captain, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
