The River Community Church believes deeply in the Great Commission; it is our joyful burden to reach the lost and hurting for Jesus Christ, both abroad and right here in Ventura. We currently support two international organizations and support several local missions teams.
Foursquare Missions International – FMI is the international missions arm of The U.S. Foursquare Church. The core mission of FMI is to partner with the Foursquare family to evangelize, disciple, plant churches and multiply national Foursquare church planting movements around the world. It is to see a global family of Foursquare churches, leaders and missionaries who, as fully devoted followers of Christ, are healthy, growing and making disciples of all nations. More information can be found here.
Hope Chapel San Salvador – We currently help sustain Jared and Kelly Mueller and family as they plant and nurture Hope Chapel San Salvador. If you so wish, you can designate an offering for their support.
As you may have noticed when navigating our site, The River Community operates a number of teams that could be described as “local missions.” While this is true, we also support several outside local missionaries – their information can be found below.
Expression Ministries – Established by Pastor Troy Jones, this ministry was founded on worship and the development of worship teams in the global church. Expression has become a music and teaching ministry with international influence. Troy has also written discipleship & study curriculum with a strong focus on biblical foundations in living a life of true worship. More information can be found at https://ywamventura.org/
Youth With A Mission Ventura – Global Strategic Initiatives
April De Pretis, a missionary serving with Youth With A Mission (YWAM), has served in 23 nations since 1989. She is currently serving in one of YWAM’s international offices, Youth With A Mission Ventura – Global Strategic Initiatives as the Administrator and is the founder of their local Anti-Human Trafficking Initiatives. The Lord first began to develop April’s heart for justice during the ten years she worked in law offices in Los Angeles County. Now, she dedicates her life bringing awareness and prevention of human trafficking through training and outreach in areas where victims of human trafficking often can be found.
In 2015, April became a founding partner of the Ventura County Coalition Against Human Trafficking, which was formed to combat human trafficking in Ventura County by partnering with other agencies and individuals to prevent, prosecute, properly identify victims of human trafficking and provide victim services.
The City Center Transitional Living – The City Center and its staff, case managers, therapists and mentors are dedicated to helping homeless, often single-parent families, transition from homelessness to independence. We use a variety of methodologies, frameworks and perspectives all with Christ at the center. Please visit https://www.thecitycenter.org to learn how you can help aid them in their mission!
“C” Street Family Plan – “C” Street Family Plan is a Christian men’s home located in Oxnard, California run by executive director Pastor Carlos Monroy. “C” Street believes that Jesus Christ is “the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews13:8).
